Hospital profit:  5%?

Most hospitals accept Medicare:  Our Medicare tax supports our non-profit hospitals.  It's our money: Do you want an administrative type to be paid $900,000 if there are not enough $50,000 technicians and nurses to take care of you? If not, start comparing your local hospitals with each other. The national average spent on administration is ~31.4% of the hospital budget. Remember, it is our money, our tax money.

Hospital administrators are public officials spending tax dollars:  For this reason, any hospital adminstrator in a Medicare-hospital should be licensed and bonded.

Use Guidestar to trace the flow of money in your local hospitals. Decide for yourself which hospital board is honest.
