Contracts are like blind-dates: Always work at a new place for a few
weeks before signing a contract. Key details are in the fine print. No one ever reads it, so pay a lawyer to read
it for you.
Pay a lawyer to go over the contract with you: Some
states will protect doctors' due process rights, but most states will not. The doctor-shortage means any hospital
board may adopt by-laws with financial incentive and due-process in all matters. If you find such a hospital, send a
copy of its by-laws here to serve as a model for other hospitals and states. HButler@post.Harvard.edu
