A Medicare-Hospital Salary In The Millions of Tax-Dollars Does Not "Serve The Community" When There Are Disparities In Care--People In Need Who Are Charged Retail Rates At De Facto Private/Corporate-Hospitals, Because Medicare Is Funded With Taxes.  Such Imbalances Constitute Economic Slavery.  We Can Do Better In The "Land of The Free." -- H.E. Butler III M.D., FACS (HButler@post.Harvard.edu)

What Fraction of Your Medicare Dollar Reaches Your Bedside, Versus The Amount That Is Diverted Into Nonprofit-Profit, government overhead, hospital overhead, etc.?

We can start local foundations to fund graduate medical education, with or without federal funds.  This is a better way to serve a community than paying admnistrators more than neurosurgeons.  If you want your public funds to serve a public purpose, compare how much "nonprofit profit" your local hospitals divert into administrators' salaries.  It's pretty simple math.  As former President Clinton said at the convention, check the arithmetic.
